Latha Pamarthi has been a resident of Wake County and a state employee for nearly twenty years. Latha has previously been involved with Hum Sub in the capacity of Vice President, in 2008 and 2009. Before first joining the Hum Sub Executive Board, Latha founded and headed the Triangle Indian Youth Organization, a group aimed to promote volunteerism and celebrate the cultural heritage of Indian-American adolescents in the Triangle area. Latha again demonstrated her passion for community development when she founded and directed the Miss India North Carolina Pageant, the state’s first pageant for women of Indian origin.
Latha is the proud mother of one son, Vishwan Pamarthi, a Harvard-educated doctor currently in radiology residency at Duke University, and a daughter, Bindhu Pamarthi, a Georgetown-educated attorney practicing law in Washington, DC.
